Golf Academy Launches Saturday “Power Camps”

Golf Academy Launches Saturday “Power Camps”
WHEATON, IL, April 19, 2011 — The Cantigny Golf Academy’s new “Power Camp” series lifts off this Saturday, April 23, at 2 pm. There will be nine Saturday afternoon workshops in all, each focusing on a different aspect of power in the golf swing.
“We developed the Power Camps based on new research that proves amateur golfers typically lose more strokes in the long game than in the short game,” said Connie DeMattia, Cantigny Golf Academy director of instruction. “Everyone should practice chipping and putting, but what separates pros from average golfers is their ability to hit the ball straighter and farther. More amateurs need length and accuracy off the tee to give their short game the chance to post good scores.”
Power Camps will take place on Saturdays from 2 pm to 5 pm, and each session will feature personal instruction from the Academy’s PGA professionals. Class sizes will be limited to six students per instructor. The cost for each camp is $150.
Registration is now open for the following Power Camps:
April 23 How to Gain More Distance
May 7 Creating Power in the Golf Swing
May 21 Load the Clubshaft for Power
June 4 Why Angles are Important
June 18 Setting Up for Power
July 9 Power with Control
July 23 Transferring the Energy
August 6 Adding Yards to Every Club
August 20 Swinging versus Hitting
To sign up for one or more camp, or for more information, golfers should call the Cantigny Golf Academy at 630.260.8199. Online registration is available at CantignyGolf.com. The website includes a schedule and descriptions of Adult Classes being offered at the Academy in 2011.
