About Connie

Connie DeMattia is a graduate of Stetson University. He is an award winning PGA golf instructor regarding his style and approach for every aspect of the game. After playing competitively (1991-1994) he taught in the nationally recognized Golf Digest Schools (1995-1999) and at Medinah Country Club (2000-2006).

His present position is the PGA Director of Instruction for Cantigny Golf. Under his leadership at the Cantigny Golf Academy, golf enthusiasts are guided in the areas of swing mechanics, golf-specific physical training, mental coaching, properly fit equipment, proper practice techniques and on-course management. Cantigny Golf is also home to one of the premier junior golf development programs in the country.

Connie was the 2004 and 2010 National PGA Teacher of the Year nominee from the Illinois PGA, the 2010 Illinois PGA Teacher of the Year recipient, and is currently listed as a "Top Teacher" in Illinois by Golf Digest Magazine (2004-present).

As a player, he competed on the PGA Tour, Nike Tour and Hooter's Tour (1991-1994), earned the Illinois PGA Player of the Year honor in 2005, and has competed in six PGA Professional National Championships. His resume of outstanding students includes PGA Tour winner Dan Halldorson, current touring professionals Dan Stringfellow, Scott Cahill, Bryce Emory and Stephrn Powers, and the 2007 World Long Drive Champion, Mike Dobbyn.
